A data center in a former industrial plant

On a 9.65-hectare industrial site in Triefenstein-Trennfeld on the river Main, an AI data center is being built in the existing halls of a former printing press plant. Under the “powered building” model, LIVOS Energies delivers the full infrastructure up to the compute pod connection; the user brings pods and IT.

Cooling is dry all year round, without chillers or evaporation. On the same plot, LIVOS Energies is planning a battery storage park of 200 MW / 400 MWh.

Technology
  • 110 kV connection via 2 × 32 MVA at the Trennfeld substation
  • 20 compute modules of 1.6 MW, approx. 246 racks at up to 130 kW
  • Annual average PUE 1.117, WUE below 0.030 l/kWh
  • Backup power from battery storage (approx. 48 MWh) and generators
  • approx. 1.11 MWp rooftop PV, 5–10 MW waste-heat export as an option
Timeline
  • Building permit targeted: Q4 2027
  • Phase 1 (6.4 MW IT): 2028
  • Phase 2 (12.8 MW IT): 2029
  • Full build-out (32 MW IT): 2030
